Jack
Jack has been legally blind since birth. Visually he experiences the world through shapes of light and shadow. However his relationship with the world around him is intimate and rich through the sensations of sound, touch, taste and smell. For Jack the biggest issue is not his blindness, but the worlds limited perception of him (able-bodied people struggle to see past his disability). By focusing on everyday childhood rituals, shared experiences emerged, creating a sense of connectedness. Jack’s story at once acknowledges his disability and his ability to transcend and forces an acknowledgement of the infinite realities of the human experience.
